1. Number of light strips


For engineering projects, calculate the number of light strips required. It should be noted here that the light strips can be cut in groups of three. Generally, the length of 60 light strips per meter is 50mm, and the length of 30 light strips per meter is 100mm. After understanding this, you can calculate the actual number of light strips that need to be used according to the construction effect design drawing. Generally, it is good to reserve a spare length of about one meter, so as to avoid waste of resources caused by excessive purchases.


2. Light strip power supply


Because the power supply is not delivered when the light strip is purchased, after calculating the length of the required light strip, the power of the required power supply should be calculated, and then the power supply should be matched. Different light strips have different power, so choose the matching power supply carefully. The following lists the power of the light strip:


0603 led strip: 12V, 60 pcs per meter, power 3.6W per meter


1210 led strip: 12V, 60 pcs per meter, power 4.8W per meter


5050 led strip: 12V, 30 pcs per meter, power 7.2W per meter


5050 led strip: 12V, 60 pcs per meter, power 14.4W per meter


For example, if you buy a 5050 light strip, the matching power supply is 12V, 4A specifications, then a power supply can only carry a 6-meter 5050 light strip. Because the power per meter of the 5050 light strip is 7.2W, 6 meters total 43.2W, and the rated power of the power supply is 48W, it is generally not recommended to use the power supply at full load, because it has a great impact on the life of the power supply, and it is recommended to use only the power supply. 95%. If 100 meters are required, at least 16 corresponding 4A power supplies need to be equipped.


3. Light strip controller


For RGB light strips, it must be equipped with a controller to have an effect, and the length of the light strip that can be controlled by a controller ranges from 5 meters to 20 meters, depending on which type of controller is selected. . In this way, after purchasing the RGB light strip, you need to purchase additional controllers based on the length of the controller, or purchase additional RGB amplifiers (each amplifier can be extended by 5 meters). Don't mistakenly think that one controller can achieve all the control requirements of RGB light strips. This is a wrong view.
