Flush mounting device installed in the middle of the ceiling is a common way to illuminate the room.Changing the decoration of the room can include updating to the Hampton Bay flush mounting fixture to highlight or complement the new room design.Installing the Hampton Bay flush mounting fixture does not require prior electrical knowledge.Some electrical knowledge is helpful for a smoother installation.Hampton Bay is a proprietary brand of Home Depot.Turn off the circuit breaker inside the main electrical panel and disconnect the circuit that supplies power to the flush mounting position in Hampton Bay.Confirm the power failure on the circuit.Touch a probe from two probe voltage testers to the black line inside the existing ceiling junction box at the installation location.Touch the remaining probe from the voltage tester to the metal on the box.If the lamp of the tester is not on, the circuit is disconnected.Install the mounting tape that comes with the Hampton Bay fixture mounting hardware.The mounting tape is 4-Pieces of metal about 1-inch longThe center is flat or raised in inches wide.It has a large center hole with slots and smaller holes at each end of the strap.Green ground screw attached to the strap.Two shorter screws on the mounting hardware will be passed through the slot on the strap.Connect the strap to the existing ceiling junction box.Use the wire connector that comes with the mounting hardware to connect the black wire on the existing ceiling junction box to the black wire on the Hampton Bay flush mounting fixture.If your fixture has multiple lamp holders, you may have multiple black lines connected to the black line from the junction box.Repeat the connection with the white line on the junction box and the white line or wire on the safety fixture.Measure 6 inch from the bare copper ground wire end of flush mounting fixture.Create a small ring in the wire and slide it over the green ground screw on the mounting belt.Pull the wire and tighten the ring around the screw, leaving 6-A few inches of ground wire hung from the ground screw.Screw the wire connectors to the bare copper line connected to the ground screws and screw them from the existing ceiling junction box to the bare copper wire to connect them together.If your fixture does not have a ground wire, connect the bare copper wire on the ceiling junction box to the green ground screw on the strap.Push all lines into the existing ceiling junction box.Use two longer screws on the mounting hardware to connect the flush mounting fixture canopy to the mounting belt.The canopy holds the lamp seat and shade.Install the bulb into the Hampton Bay flush mounting fixture.Turn the bulb clockwise until it is tightened.Place the lampshade on the bulb and fix it on the flush mounting fixture canopy.If the shadow is anchored by a single nut or finial at the bottom of the shadow, carefully insert the screw bar into the opening in the center of the shadow.By installing the gasket and decorative base cover on the threaded rod, the glass is fixed on the flush mounting fixture canopy.Screw finial onto the rod until the glass is fixed to the fixture.If the glass shadow is fixed on the canopy with a thumb screw through the fixture canopy, alternately tighten the thumb screw around the canopy until the shadow is fixed on the fixture.
