Hu Yizhen, director of Beijing Fengtai Wuxiao, said: “All of our 46 classrooms have replaced energy-saving lamps, mainly to prevent light pollution. Campus lighting uses solar lights, which can save more than 7,000 yuan per year.” At present, there are 2,046 primary and secondary schools in Beijing, replacing more than 1.5 million high-efficiency lighting sources. According to the monitoring results, after replacing these energy-saving lamps, the annual electricity saving will be 14.4 million kWh, and the electricity cost will be 8.21 million yuan, which not only saves energy, but also saves the average illuminance of the classroom by about 60%.
